Excellent Product

I put this on my IC-7300 when I store it in the case padded with sponge rubber. It keeps debris out of the connector so less problems with the radio.

Don’t need a microphone. Couldn’t be happier with the microphone plug cover. Fits well and its like bling for the serious CW operator.

These caps are great. I didn’t know that the 8-pin mic connector was the same diameter and pitch as an SO-239 connector - these caps fit both. Gonna buy more. [ STAFF NOTE ] Thanks for the feedback... and yes, the UHF, Type N, and MIC Connectors have the same 5/8-24T thread.

What more to say? It fits correctly and the red rubber insert keeps rain water out (my jack is mounted on the outside of my car).

Surprisingly Useful!

These caps are surprisigly useful for amateur radio equipment. They are the same size as the 239 connector on the back, or the microphone plug on the front of most rigs. If you are a CW only operator, you can use one to cover the microphone plug and store your microphone away. If your HF rig has multiple SO-239 connectors on the back and you are only using one, you can cover the other connectors with these to keep them clean. If you are using a rig in the field, you can use these to cover the plugs to prevent dirt or damage during transportation or field use. If you do DXpeditions, you can use these to help prevent corrosion to unused plugs. I bought a large bag to use, and will share spares with friends and fellow club members.
