'RP' or 'Reverse Polarity' is a keying system accomplished with a reversing the center contacts (pins) to ensure these reverse polarity connectors do not mate with standard SMA connectors. Manufacturers accomplish this by inserting female contacts into male plugs and male contacts into female jacks.
